Learning and Experiencing

At the Nagasaki Prefectural Museum of Art, we have developed a diverse range of programs to enable visitors to learn and experience the allure of art and the museum through all five senses, including listening, looking, and touching. These programs are also intended to create a place for interactions between people of many different generations and communities.

Learning through Lectures and Gallery Talks

The museum presents lectures dealing with exhibition content, museum activities, and other themes as well as gallery talks given by curators and volunteers.

Learning through Experience: Workshops

The museum offers workshops, designed for a wide range of age groups, from children to adults, in which visitors can appreciate and produce art; and casual hands-on programs in which visitors can experience various materials and techniques.

Learning with Classmates: School Programs

In addition to facilitating school programs designed for school and other educational facilities, the museum provides art-appreciation materials for use in the classroom.

Learning through Support: Volunteering

The museum implements two volunteer programs, one overseen by art volunteers and the other by Yoriyori art communicators, which are designed to support museum activities.
